"DANCING FOR RUTH" (charity dance show) FRIDAY 4th JUNE 2010 Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Dance show till 9.30pm. Freestyle dancing till 10.30pm Bannerdale Centre, 125 Carter Knowle Road, Sheffield S7 2EX Ruth is a young Zimbabwean girl living in Johannesburg with her family. She has seen many terrible things in her life. Having had to flee the violence of Robert Mugabe's regime, her family moved to South Africa only to suffer xenophobic attacks. They had to flee again and all six of them are living in one tiny room with only one single bed, and any space on the floor they can make to sleep. If we can help Ruth graduate school there is hope that she will get a good job and help her family get out of the slum and regain some dignity. Every Dance is committed to helping them until that time, and we'd like to acknowledge the help of many other dance teachers who are supplying their time and talents to make this show work. Dance styles include: Bollywood, Tango, Street Dance, Irish Dance, Salsa, Rueda, Kizomba, Yoga Dance, Jive, Contemorary, Flamenco, Bellydance, and Fusion Dance.
