LEARN HOW TO LINDYHOP
SUNDAY 11th APRIL 2010
1:15 - 4:15pm
Goodwin Sports Centre, Northumberland Road, Sheffield S10 2TY
Lindyhop is the mother of all jive - literally! With its roots in 1920s Black Harlem, it's the style out of which all other jive - including rock 'n roll, swing jive, ceroc and modern jive - has since grown. Named in honour of Charles Lindbergh, who became America's greatest hero after flying non-stop across the Atlantic for the first time, it didn't hit Britain's shores until the 1940s when it took the country by storm.
Now's your chance to find out what the hullabaloo was all about! Come along and join us for the Lindy Charleston, Mess Around, and Shorty George.
Let's dance!
Note: wear flat shoes and bring lots of water. You don't need to bring a partner with you. Because this is a beginners' workshop there are no aerial moves or drops, but there will be some very cool moves!

£19 per person; £17 for mailing list and class members;
£15 for young people under 21
